Brothers Osborne's sophomore album, Port Saint Joe, arrives at retail today (Friday, April 20th). The project was named after the Florida beachside town in which they recorded all 10 songs, including their current single, “Shoot Me Straight.”
John and TJ Osborne were seeking a specific sound with the new album, imperfections and all, as TJ tells us exclusively: “We thought for us, the best thing that I think we do is perform live, and so we really wanted to capture that, and that can be really hard when you record in the studio to get that same type of feeling and we kind of thought, 'Man, that feeling's best translated through a bunch of . . . you're just gonna have to leave the mistakes and everything in there,' cause that's what you get when you hear it live. You hear those moments where maybe where I'm singing a little out of tune or maybe the guitar solo feels like it could fall apart at any second and I think that energy that comes across in a live setting is what we tried to capture most on this record.”
Port Saint Joe will also be available on vinyl.
Brothers Osborne picked up their second consecutive ACM Vocal Duo of the Year award earlier this week.
