Carrie Underwood has joined the Universal Music Group roster in Nashville under the Capitol Records umbrella. The superstar was previously signed to Arista Nashville, where she released all five of her studio albums dating back to 2005. The move puts her in the company of fellow UMG acts like Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley and Lady Antebellum.
Carrie stated, “It’s so inspiring to me as an artist to feel this excited about the future. The incredible team at UMG shares the heart and passion I have for music as well as the drive, and their innovative spirit has shown that together the possibilities are endless. I also want to be sure to thank every single person who has played a part in my recording career so far. I will be forever grateful to them for all we achieved together."
Carrie will be in Las Vegas this weekend for the 52nd annual ACM Awards, where she is nominated for Entertainer and Female Vocalist of the Year. She will also perform during the live broadcast, which airs on CBS on Sunday (April 2nd) beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
