The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville will salute the families of enlisted soldiers with a red carpet parade and two special Salute the Troops Opry performances on Tuesday, May 22nd. The evening’s Opry performances begin at 7 pm and 9:30 p.m. and are slated to feature performances by Darius Rucker, Craig Morgan, Trace Adkins, Lee Greenwood, Kellie Pickler, and more.
During Opry member Darius Rucker’s set, Former U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Francis Kancir will be presented with a ceremonial key, to his newly renovated, mortgage-free home located in Clarksville, TN.
The Opry, the Tennessee National Guard Family Programs organization, and the USO will invite men and women of the U.S. military as well as spouses, children, and parents of soldiers serving overseas to walk a red carpet into the Opry House for the evening’s shows saluting the troops and the families they leave at home to serve the United States. The public is invited to be a part of the honored families’ red carpet arrivals outside the Opry House beginning at 5:45 p.m.
