Lauren Alaina's new album, Road Less Traveled, arrives in stores and online today (Friday, January 27th). The project includes 12 songs, all of which were co-written by the 22-year-old.
Lauren tells us Road Less Traveled is definitely an empowering album, especially for women. ["I did a lot of soul-searching in this writing process and I wrote over 300 songs for this album and like most of them have that topic accidentally. It's what I'm passionate about. I was trying to write songs that mean something to me and I've had such a journey with the insecurities and all that stuff that it just kind of came naturally and I have like 12 songs pretty much that encourage you to be who you are. Actually, I really do think it's like nine of the 12 that have that them accidentally, but it worked out because the album has a theme. I think really what happened is I figured out in the last four years who I am as an artist and what I wanted to say. With this one I feel like I'm really telling who I am and everywhere I've been and what I've gone through. I mean, every single part of me in the last four years is in this album, and that's the scariest thing ever and the most exciting thing ever."] SOUNDCUE (:53 OC: . . . exciting thing ever.)
The album's title track is a Top 15 hit on the country charts.
Lauren continues on the road with Martina McBride on the Love Unleashed tour on February 2nd in St. Louis, MO.
