LoCash stumbled upon their latest hit, "Ring On Every Finger," during a meeting in Nashville with a bunch of music publishers. They gathered to play the duo some songs in hopes they would record at least one, but as Chris Lucas tells us, only one stood out and grabbed him and partner Preston Brust immediately, due in large part to the talent of fellow artist and songwriter Thomas Rhett. ["We sat at a table at The Palm. They wined us and dined us and we listened to a couple of songs already and we were like, 'We just need something different cause we can hone it in to what LoCash wants to bring to it, but clever,' and the one girl goes, 'Yeah, I got the song,' and she plays 'Ring On Every Finger,' and we listened to it and we're like, 'Is that Thomas singing?' She's like, 'Yeah, he's a co-writer of it.' We were like, 'In!' (We) threw our hands up and like, 'This is a touchdown. This will be a single,' and it just guided us into that song. It really did, with the country love lyric cleverly twisted with a cool beat behind it. It sings to the girl. Man, every girl wants to hear that a guy loves her that much and every redneck wants to say it, and that's how they'd say it — 'if I could I would,' you know, so it's pretty cool."] SOUNDCUE (:49 OC: . . . it's pretty cool.)
LoCash's hunch has paid off — "Ring On Every Finger" is a Top 30 hit and climbing on the country charts.
The duo have a summer packed full of fair and festival dates, including Country USA in Oshkosh, WI on Wednesday (June 21st).
