Luke Bryan has been tapped to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on February 5th in Houston, TX. He told people.com that the decision was a no-brainer – when asked he quickly responded, "Hell yes, I’ll do it!"
Luke said, “Is the anthem challenging? Yes. Is it nerve-wracking? Yes. But I moved to Nashville to follow my dreams and singing the national anthem on that stage doesn’t get any bigger . . . I feel like this is my way of honoring my country. It’s a little chance to serve.”
Luke was, of course, rooting for the Atlanta Falcons representing his home state of Georgia. He said, “I’m a huge Atlanta Falcons fan and it would be amazing if my Falcons make it. I’ll be focused on the anthem. And once I walk off that field and shake off that pressure, I’ll be ready to enjoy some football.” The Falcons beat the Packers last night (Sunday, January 22nd) 44-21.
Lady Gaga will perform the halftime show.
