Luke Combs is set to release his debut album, called This One’s For You, on June 2nd. The project includes his debut hit single “Hurricane” which boasts 59 million streams and this week lands at Number 13 on both Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck’s Mediabase Chart. This One’s For You will be available for pre-order at digital retailers and LukeCombs.com starting on April 28th. The Asheville, NC native co-penned all 12 tracks on the project.
Luke said, “I couldn’t be more proud of this album. These songs mean so much to me and all my friends who I wrote them with. From North Carolina to Nashville, this project has been such a long time in the making and I can’t wait for the fans to hear it. I sincerely hope they enjoy the album because they are the reason I do what I do.”
And as far as Luke is concerned, music is the only thing he could do. He tells us he never had a backup plan. [“A lot of people ask me when I moved to town, ‘What’s plan B? What’s plan B?’ I dropped out of college with 21 hours left and I’m not necessarily proud of that. I’m not advocating anyone to go out and drop out of college, but I am lucky enough that it didn’t backfire on me. I’m sure that it could have but people ask me, ‘What was your plan B?’ and I said that I don’t have a plan B. There was no plan B for me. I was gonna come to Nashville and make it happen, however it had to happen.”] SOUNDCUE (:33 OC: . . . had to happen.)
Luke joins Brantley Gilbert on his Devil Don’t Sleep tour through September.
