Old Dominion not only had great seats to watch Super Bowl 51 on Sunday (February 5th) at NRG Stadium in Houston, but after the upset of the year with the Patriots defeating the Falcons, the band was invited to play the official Patriots' after-party.
Old Dominion was personally invited by the New England Patriots owners, the Kraft family, to do the honors at the exclusive post-game party, and as lead singer Matthew Ramsey tells us, the whole experience was unforgettable. [“The once in a lifetime experience, getting to play the Patriots Superbowl party. We were so excited when we got that offer, we jumped at it. It was a whirlwind, it was 24 hours up, just going, going, going, and waiting, waiting, waiting. But the party was a blast. The game was unbelievable. It was a once in a lifetime experience, like I said.”] SOUNDCUE (:24 OC: . . . like I said.)
Old Dominion credits Kenny Chesney with the opportunity, having toured with the superstar and opened a couple of shows at Foxboro's Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots.
Kenny was also in attendance at the big game, taking it in with his father. They enjoyed the experience VIP-style sitting in the Patriots suite with team owner Robert Kraft.
