Greenville Police officer Arrested

A Greenville police officer has reportedly been arrested for aggravated assault charges.
Eddie Strong is being held in Greenville for the recent assault of his ex-girlfriend on the 1500 block of Genie Fairway.
The woman was apparently taken to Delta Regional for injuries sustained during the domestic dispute.
Strong was allegedly fired from the department after his arrest.
Coahoma County School will Stay Open
After several months of debating, one Coahoma County’s Sherard Elementary School will at least stay open for the next school year.
The Coahoma County School District Board of Trustees reportedly voted to annul a preceding vote to close the elementary School.
A group of Sherard supporters apparently put together a petition of 740 signatures to keep Sherard open, after the Board’s reported first decision to close the school down.
Washington did reportedly say that if a county school had to be shut down due to limited funds; Sherard would be the one to close.
