John McEuen, one of the founding members of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (NGDB), has announced his immediate departure from the group. Stating in part that “enough is enough,” McEuen exits upon the conclusion of the NGDB 2017 tour, which wrapped up on October 22n in Fargo, ND marking the end of the band’s 50th year anniversary. McEuen said, “In assessing the situation surrounding our performances, business disagreements and ongoing difference of opinions, the timing is appropriate for my departure. As a catalyst to my decision, in December 2015, I received confirmation from Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Inc. that I was an ‘employee’– no longer a member of the corporation that I helped to build."

Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman got to introduce her baby daughter, Dolly, to the woman she's named after, Dolly Parton, backstage at the Kenny Rogers farewell concert in Nashville last week. Kimberly shared a picture on Instagram writing, "Dolly meets Dolly!!! @dollyparton thank you for lovin’ on my Dolly." Kimberly and her husband, Stephen Schlapman, adopted Dolly Grace earlier this year. She joins their other daughter, eight-year-old Daisy.
