Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard and his wife, Hayley, show off their new daughter, Olivia Rose, and her birth experience in the new issue of People magazine, on newsstands today (Friday, January 5th). Hayley's labor and delivery opened Tyler's eyes to the strength of women. He said, “I think it’s something that God doesn’t let men do for a reason — I don’t know if we could get through it,” adding that he “100 percent” has a new respect for both Hayley “and all women who have babies.”
Little Olivia was born on December 23rd in Nashville, and the couple said their goal was to create a calm space in the hospital room to welcome her. Upon her arrival, Tyler admits he was both “laughing and crying.” He said, “It was a pretty wild rush of emotions and I think Hayley felt the same way. Right when she was born, they put her on Hayley’s chest and wiped her off a little bit and we spent a little time with her. It was definitely a magical moment, and a moment that we’d been waiting for, for a long time.”
Even so-called "big brother" Harley Hubbard, the couple's golden retriever, was excited about the new addition. He was in the delivery room when Olivia made her entrance into the world, and since then, he's made quite a connection with the baby. Tyler said, “He’s so gentle with her and he just smells her. He’s already protective of her . . . I think with golden retrievers, it’s almost like they’re meant for that. He’s already in love with her.”
Tyler's musical partner, Brian Kelley, and his wife, Brittney, met Olivia for the first time yesterday (Thursday, January 4th). Brian posted a picture on social media writing, "Hard not to get emotional while meeting this precious angel today oh my Lord what a blessing! @thubbmusic @hayley_hubbard so so proud of y’all! What a beautiful story God is writing. y’all got parents of the year on lock already"
