Garth Brooks may have been voted the CMA's Entertainer of the Year for the second consecutive year on Wednesday (November 8th) night, but some of his fans were disappointed in his so-called live performance during the show. They were quick to point out that the superstar lip synced his latest single, "Ask Me How I Know," a fact that Garth quickly copped to while backstage with reporters. He said: ["If you want to know where we're at right now, we're in the middle of 12 shows in 10 days. Not 10 shows in 12 days, 12 shows in 10 days. The voice is gone. (I'm) trying to save it. We'll be on stage tomorrow night for another seven nights hopefully in Spokane, so CMA's were sweet enough to let me sleep in til Wednesday and we did a game time call on whether we did singing to track or lip syncing and I decided to lip sync cause the voice is not there and you want to represent Country music the best you can."] SOUNDCUE (:26 OC: . . . best you can.)
Fans turned to social media to share clips of the performance along with their angry comments including "Worst lip syncing I’ve ever seen," and "Everyone's up there shouting u out for being a 'legend' and you're gonna freaking lip sync overdramatically like a fool to your own song??"
In the meantime, Garth and Trisha Yearwood have taken their World Tour to Spokane, Washington through Tuesday (November 14th).
