In the weeks that Garth Brooks’ latest hit, “Ask Me How I Know,” has spent climbing the charts, one of the most-gratifying things for the entertainer has been the attention it’s generated for the talented singer-songwriter who wrote it named Mitch Rossell.
Garth tells us that having Mitch also play on the song is one of the things he loves most about his recording of "Ask Me How I Know": [“My favorite part of ‘Ask Me How I Know’ – Mitch Rossell is playing the opening lick. Can you imagine (being) a writer, getting your first cut, and you’re playing on it? And then – I’m telling you – the groove that (drummer) Milton Sledge lays on this chorus – it just makes that chorus get so big. And I love it.”] SOUNDCUE (:18 OC: . . . I love it.)
Garth has also asked Mitch to join him on tour over the past several months, where he opened several concerts with an acoustic set.
“Ask Me How I Know” sits at Number Two on the Billboard chart this week.
