Jake Owen, Peyton Manning, and Phil Mickelson will be the recipients of the prestigious Arnie Award, named after the late Arnold Palmer, on February 7th as part of Golf Digest’s “Golfers Who Give Back” event during the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Golf Digest’s December cover story features Jake, Peyton and Phil in its Philanthropy & Golf story celebrating “Golfers Who Give Back.”
Jake said, “Receiving this award with Arnold Palmer’s name on it and what it represents means everything to me. To receive an Arnie the same year as Peyton and Phil Mickelson, who I respect so much, is simply mind blowing. I’m extremely grateful. I will probably cry when they present it to me and so will my Dad, who taught me how to play golf when I was just a little kid.”
Jake heads to his hometown of Vero Beach, FL for his 10th annual benefit concert there taking place on December 9th. All proceeds benefit the Jake Owen Foundation, which to date has raised $1.25 million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and local children’s charities in the Indian River County area.
Jake will be joined at the fundraiser event by his good friends World Number One golfer Jason Day and NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick. They will be part of the benefit concert and will play with Jake in the Hale Groves Indian River Grapefruit Pro-Am on December 10th and 11th at Vero Beach Country Club.
