Jon Pardi is nominated in a couple of categories at next week's CMA Awards — New Artist of the Year, as well as Single of the Year for his multi-week Number One, “Dirt on My Boots,” which is also nominated for CMA Song of the Year with the trophy going to the tune’s writers. While Jon is hopeful he will take home a trophy, he tells us he's trying not to obsess over it. [“I mean, I try not to get all ‘Oh, it’d be so awesome!’ It’d be amazing, but the real trophies have been No. 1’s and gold records and fans showing up to the shows. I mean, I’d love to have all of it and I’d love to get it, but you know how it is. Man, there’s a lot of guys doing good, and I want everybody to get the award, so I try not to be like just dreaming about it. ‘What if I got it?’ ‘It’d be so awesome.’ And the CMAs area always fun to go to anyway, so . . .”] SOUNDCUE (:30 OC: . . . to anyway, so . . . )
Jon is scheduled to perform at the 51st Annual CMA Awards, which will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (November 8th) at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
He recently released “She Ain’t In It,” the follow-up to his three Number One singles — “Head Over Boots,” “Dirt On My Boots” and “Heartache on the Dance Floor,” which are all from his sophomore album, California Sunrise.
