Lauren Alaina scored her very first CMA Awards nomination this year for New Artist of the Year. She's been adjusting to the news for several weeks but tells us she still can't quite believe it. [“I am still kind of in shock that I have a CMA Award nomination, and I’m in shock because it’s like something that no one can ever take away for me like forever now for the rest of my life I can say that I was nominated for a CMA award. And I’ve gone to those award shows every year, and I’ve never had a nomination so when the Brothers Osborne said my name on Good Morning America, I was standing next to them, which is pretty crazy that I was on national television when I found out I had the nomination, and I love those guys. It was just this moment of like what is my life? What has happened in my life and whose life am I living? Everything that I’ve ever wanted has started happening, and it’s crazy. I was so excited. I’m still so excited. I’m going to be so excited. What’s even cooler about it is the (CMA) Awards are on my birthday this year, so happy birthday to me! (laughs)"] SOUNDCUE (:54 OC: . . . birthday to me! (laughs))
Lauren will be celebrating more than just her CMA nomination on November 8th – the CMA Awards are being held on her birthday.
The 51st Annual CMA Awards will be broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Area on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
Lauren is making her way up the country charts with her latest hit, “Doin’ Fine.”
