Lindsay Ell’s debut album, The Project, has claimed the Number One position on the Nielsen Soundscan Current Country Albums Chart this week, making her only the second solo female to debut at Number One with a debut album in 2017. It also lands at Number Seven on Nielsen’s all-genre Top Current Albums with sales of more than 10,000 copies.
Lindsay said, "The Project is the record I’ve wanted to release since I was a little girl, but as an artist, sometimes it takes time to figure out what you want to say and how you want to say it. I'm so grateful to my entire team for standing by my side throughout the whole process. Every single fan that has come to my shows, stood in meet and greet lines, and sang songs that they've learned through YouTube videos is what keeps me working so hard. Having a No. 1 selling album is incredible and I’m overwhelmed by the support. I've finally made a record that's me, and I'm just happy fans are loving it as much as I do."
The Project was produced by Kristian Bush. Lindsay co-wrote nine of the album’s 12 tracks, including her current single, “Waiting On You.”
