Luke Bryan has been making his way around the U.S. for American Idol auditions for the past few months. Along the way, he tells us he and his fellow judges, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, have learned what to really look for in an Idol hopeful. ["I think even in judging Idol it's always so refreshing . . . I mean, the worst thing those contestants say is, 'I've been in vocal training for five years and I have perfect pitch,' and we're over there going, 'Here we go!' But when you have the cocktail waitress that's been working four jobs to feed her kids and she rolls in and sings Janis Joplin like she hasn't eaten in four weeks, that's who you want to hitch your wagon to, that type of stuff."] SOUNDCUE (:30 OC: . . . type of stuff.)

The American Idol reboot on ABC will premiere on March 11th.
