Thomas Rhett’s latest single, “Craving You,” is yet another huge hit for him, but it turns out, the song could have ended up either not happening or becoming something completely different. Thomas tells us: “The funny story about ‘Craving You’ is actually, a guy named Julian Bunetta and a guy named Dave Barnes were in Nashville and I was supposed to actually join this co-write one day but I got sick. And so Julian and Dave happened to write this song called ‘Craving You.’ And I remember Julian sending me the track and just immediately just being blown away by the song, blown away by the longing-ness of the story of how this guy is just craving this girl and every time they leave each other they can’t wait to get back together with each other. Who knows if I’d been in the room that day if we would have written this song, but it’s kind of a cool story either way.”
Of course, “Craving You” features Maren Morris, who recently shot the video with Thomas in Nashville. The clip will be released in the coming weeks.
“Craving You” is the debut single from Thomas' upcoming third studio album, due out later this year.
