Garth Brooks is a nominee for the night’s biggest honor – Entertainer of the Year – at tomorrow (Wednesday, November 8th) night's CMA Awards. He’s also the reigning titleholder, having earned the award a history-making fifth time last year.
Garth says that while award nominations and wins are great, the payoff is getting to take the stage each night. [“You walk out there and the first thing you do, man – every night – is you thank God for the chance to play. I feel very lucky to be invited. I feel very lucky for your name to be nominated and called – that’s very sweet. But for me, the awards shows have always been like the Christmas tree to Christmas – it’s a symbol of it, but it’s not what Christmas is all about.”] SOUNDCUE (:18 OC: . . . is all about.)
Garth will also be performing during the live CMA Awards broadcast on ABC beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban are all also up for CMA Entertainer of the Year.
