After 12 consecutive years of hosting the CMA Awards, Carrie Underwood is stepping aside. She made the surprising announcement on Instagram Monday (Dec. 30)
Carrie co-hosted the first 11 years with Brad Paisley and most recently worked alongside Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
In her post she stated how lucky she was to have worked with Brad and called him her “partner in crime.” She went on to say this: “One of the highlights of 2019, and of my entire career so far, was being on stage with the legends that are Reba and Dolly Parton.”
As for a reason for leaving, she wrote: “It’s hard to imagine topping what we have accomplished together, so I've decided that it’s time to pass the hosting torch (at least for now!) to others that will cherish it and honor it as much as I do.”
