Chris Young's latest single, “Drowning,” has been definitely striking a chord with listeners, but it was actually never intended to be released to radio. Chris co-wrote the song about a good friend he lost to a car accident several years ago, and while it was always destined to be part of his upcoming album, he tells us it has taken on a life of its own as a single. “I didn't realize it was gonna end up being a single. I knew this was something I was going to cut and put on the record, but just the overwhelming like outpouring from people, and it's very different from anything that I've done before. Being able to make the video, I wanted it to be that as well.”
The “Drowning” video was shot at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, marking the first time Chris played a headlining show in Sin City since the horrific Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting two years ago, and features hundreds of his fans.
“Drowning” will be featured on Chris' Raised On Country album, due out in 2020.
