Dolly Parton surprised fans at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island on Saturday (July 27th) when she joined new country music group The Highwomen, made up of Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris, and Amanda Shires, along with Sheryl Crow, Lucy Dacus, and Maggie Rogers on stage. Dolly performed a few of her timeless hits including "I Will Always Love You," "Jolene" and "9 to 5."

After the show, Dolly posted a picture of herself on stage writing, "I just love surprises! You should have seen the look on your faces. Thanks for having me."

The weekend was a big one for Maren Morris, who learned her single, "Girl," has topped the country charts. She wrote on Twitter, "I don’t know what to say except thank you. I won’t even wipe my tears because I’m proud of them and what this song has done.
@TheHighwomen made their debut and GIRL is the number 1 song in the country. We did it."
