Luke Bryan surprised fans and released a brand new single on Friday (March 29th) called “Knockin' Boots.” The song was written by Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Jon Nite, and is the first of new music coming from Luke by the end of 2019. “Knockin’ Boots” is available at all digital retailers now.
Luke said, “From the moment I heard this song I knew I had to get in the studio and record it. I just couldn’t get it out of my head. This may be the fastest turn around I have ever done with a song.”
He tells us “Knockin' Boots” gives fans a glimpse of what's to come. “This song sets the tone for my new album because it’s a different sounding song for me. The production is really, really sparse, and it really is open, and it breathes and it kinda lets me tell the story about the song. The main thing about the song is it’s just fun. It’s gonna be so fun to have out for the summer tour, and certainly to be the first single off the new album, it sets the tone for the album of ‘We’re gonna have some fun on the new album.’”
“Knockin’ Boots” follows Luke’s recent 22nd career Number One single, “What Makes You Country,” the fourth consecutive chart-topper from his What Makes You Country album.
Luke has two nominations going into this weekend's Academy of Country Music Awards — Entertainer of the Year and Song of the Year for “Most People Are Good.” The ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas on CBS on Sunday (April 7th) at 8 p.m. ET.
