Miranda Lambert is using her Wildcard Tour to pay respect to local first reponders in each city. Radio listeners can nominate these special people to participating country stations, and the selected honoree will receive two show tickets and meet & greets with Miranda.
She said, “I was really inspired by (radio personality) Kelly Ford, who honors a first responder every Friday on her show, and last November I got to nominate my husband, Brendan. I wanted to be able to spread that to every city we’re visiting on the Wildcard Tour, and say thank you to the brave men and women who keep those places safe. It’s been incredibly inspiring to hear stories of local heroes, and I’m honored to have them as our guests every night.”
The Wildcard Tour gets underway on Thursday (Jan. 16th) in Tupelo, Miss. with special guests Cody Johnson and LANCO. Miranda chose to surround herself with a bunch of guys on the new tour who all inspire her in some way. She tells us: ["I'm taking fellow Texan Cody Johnson out. He's just country and I love country music, like stone cold country, and then LANCO I saw at a festival in Canada last summer and I watched their show and it was like in the afternoon and it was so energetic and they had the crowd so excited and they're like cool and young and have these hip vibes. I love that. I want to be inspired every night, you know? I watch every one of my openers almost every night and I want to have to go out there and bring my A game, you know?"] SOUNDCUE (:30 OC: . . . game, you know?)
Miranda is climbing the charts with her latest single, "Bluebird."
