Miranda Lambert is going for a new sound with her upcoming studio album. She has switched producers — Miranda had worked with producer Frank Lidell since she recorded Kerosene in 2005 — but she's now looking for what she calls a “rock vibe.” Rolling Stone reports that Miranda has tapped Eric Church and Brothers Osborne producer Jay Joyce for the new album. She said, “It was a change, but I wanted to go in a different direction for this one than I have in the past because I feel like I was in a new place. Jay and I had some new chemistry. Sometimes you have to change it up.”
Miranda gave fans at CMA Fest a taste of the new music to come with the performance of a song called “Locomotive.”
She turned the album in to her label last week and she's champing at the bit to get a new single out to radio. She said, “I hope there is a single out in, like, two weeks. I don’t know how long that sh-t takes and I don’t care. I’m just ready.”
Miranda hopes to have an album out to fans sometime this fall.
Her 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour is set to kick off in September.
